Defiance College to Host Veterans Appreciation Day at November 8 Football Game

DEFIANCE, Ohio — Defiance College will honor the service of local military service members by making the Saturday, Nov. 8 football game against Madonna University Veterans Appreciation Day. 

As part of the day's recognition, all former and active-duty service members will receive free admission to the game. Complimentary tickets are available in advance at the local VFW and American Legion posts.

Before the game, veterans are invited to gather under a special hospitality tent featuring complimentary pizza. During pregame ceremonies, veterans will be welcomed onto the field to be honored during the flag raising and the national anthem. In addition, a solemn moment of silence will be observed for all prisoners of war and those missing in action (POWs/MIA).

Defiance College encourages all community members to attend and join in honoring local heroes while cheering on the Yellow Jackets.

Kickoff for the Yellow Jackets versus Madonna is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Justin F. Coressel Stadium.
