Five Yellow Jackets Honored by National Football Federation

DEFIANCE, Ohio – The National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame recently announced its 2010 NFF Hampshire Honor Society, which is made up of collegiate football players from all divisions of play who maintained a grade-point average of 3.2 or higher.

Defiance College had five players recognized by the NFF as its 2010 Hampshire Honor Society honorees, as Joel Billings, Troy Huelskamp, Matt King, Andrew Kohls and Mike Szuma were among the total of 620 student-athletes from 246 schools to qualify for the honor.

"The NFF's mission is to build leaders through football, and this year's Hampshire Honor Society members are living proof of that charge," said NFF Chairman Archie Manning. "Each of these young men showcased a strong desire to succeed on and off the football field, and we are certainly proud to honor them for their accomplishments as the next generation of our nation's leaders."
