DC's Sales Named to D3hoops.com National team of the Week

DEFIANCE, Ohio – Defiance College's Nick Sales has been named as one of five student-athletes from around the nation to earn a spot on the www.D3hoops.com Week 12 Team of the Week. Sales joins Logan Wolfrum as the second Yellow Jacket to receive the honor this season.

Sales helped Defiance clinch the No. 3 seed in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament with a pair of victories to close out the regular season. The senior forward shot 70.8 percent from the field in the two wins, while netting 20.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 4.5 steals, 2.5 assists and 1.0 blocks per game against Bluffton and Franklin.

The Barberton, Ohio, native opened the week with his 25th collegiate double-double and led all players with 25 points and 11 boards in a 70-60 win against Bluffton on Senior Night. Sales then added 16 points, five rebounds and six steals in a 73-60 win at Franklin on Saturday and became DC's 20th member of the 1,300-point club.

Sales was joined on the D3hoops.com Team of the Week by John Hoch of Carroll, Zac Schaeffer of Albright, Spencer Gay of top-ranked Washington and Juan Paulino of Wells.

Sales and the Jackets (21-5) have since topped Franklin, 92-78, in the HCAC Quarterfinals and are set to take on Hanover (15-9) in the HCAC Semifinals on Friday night at 6:00 pm on the campus of Anderson University.
