DC gets exhibition game exposure at D-I Oakland
ROCHESTER, Mich. - The Defiance College men's basketball team traveled to Division-I Oakland on Saturday and were defeated 113-47 in the Golden Grizzlies first official home game this season. The contest for the Yellow Jackets was an exhibition and does not influence the team's overall record.
The Golden Grizzlies picked up their first regular-season win of the campaign after playing nationally-ranked Michigan, Purdue and Houston on the road for an 0-3 start. Defiance native Greg Kampe's Golden Grizzlies shot 61 percent from the field and 8 of 9 players reached double figures in the win.
Defiance got 12 players into the game and 10 members of the Purple and Gold got in the scoring column. Leading the way was freshman Isaiah Meade-Moss off the bench with 10 points plus 4 rebounds. Fellow freshman Carder Orr poured in 9 points and secured a team-best 5 rebounds.
The Yellow Jackets continue their season on Monday night with a visit to Lawrence Tech.
