HUNTINGTON, Ind. – The Defiance College men's soccer team struggled this afternoon, falling 4-0 to Huntington University in Huntington, Indiana.
The Foresters took the lead just two minutes into the game as HU beat the Yellow Jacket defense down the line. With the 1-0 lead, Huntington turned up the intensity, netting a second goal just six minutes later. The home team went on to add a third and fourth goal in the first half before Clay Musgrave secured one of his nine saves in the waning moments of the first half to keep the Foresters' lead to 4-0.
The Yellow Jackets came back stronger in the second half, but failed to mount a comeback. Musgrave finished with nine saves in net. The Foresters concluded the game with 21 shots compared to Defiance's seven.
The Yellow Jackets look to bounce back on Saturday, September 23 as they travel to take on Baldwin Wallace at 7:00 PM in Brea, Ohio.
