Jackets Push Win Streak to Four-Straight Matches

HILTON HEAD S.C. – Defiance continued its strong play during its spring break trip to Hilton Head, S.C., and rounded out the trip in style by storming past Marian and Mount Union on Thursday afternoon to improve to 4-1 on the trip and 6-3 on the season.

DC swept the doubles matches once again, winning all six on the day to take control of the action heading into singles play. The Jackets opened the day with an 8-1 victory over Marion, sweeping the doubles contests and winning every singles match except for the top spot.

Another sweep of doubles play lifted DC to a 3-0 advantage against Mount Union in the day's second matchup. The Jackets then suffered defeats in the top three singles contests before seeing the bottom half of the lineup come through once again. Adam Fausey, Trevor Ault and Lachmond Bratton cruised to wins at No. 4, 5 and 6 singles to preserve the 6-3 DC victory.

Defiance will now head north riding the four-match win streak and will look to continue the winning ways when it opens Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action on Saturday at Mount St. Joseph. DC will take on MSJ (0-1) at 9:00 am, before facing off with Franklin (3-5) at 11:00 am.
