Men’s Track and Field Records Best-Ever Finish at All-Ohio
DELAWARE, Ohio – The Defiance College men’s track and field team posted a fifth-place finish out of 22 teams at the All-Ohio Championships on Saturday. The fifth-place result was the best-ever finish for the Defiance men at the event.

Defiance featured two All-Ohio Champions and added another top-three finish to earn three All-Ohio honorees. Junior thrower Tom Postema won the hammer throw with a mark of 179-00, and freshman Troy Parrett won the 800-meter run with a time of 1:55.13. Sophomore Joe Davis set a school record in the 5000-meter run with a time of 15:35.24 en route to a third-place finish and All-Ohio honors.
Postema claimed two more top-five finishes with a fourth-place effort in the discus with a mark of 150-04. He added a fifth-place result in the shot put with a toss of 49-09.00.
Freshman Reggie Neal was fourth in the triple jump with a leap of 44-11.00. Defiance received a fifth-place finish in the 3000-meter steeplechase from senior Justin Perkins with a time of 9:43.09. In the high jump, senior Kyle Tietje finished sixth after setting a mark of 6-02.00.
Junior Dan Hardin-Wallace captured eighth overall in the javelin with a throw of 151-02. Hardin-Wallace combined with Parrett, sophomore Madison Murphy and freshman Ryan Johnston to take eighth-place in the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:31.64.
The Yellow Jackets will return to competition on Saturday, April 21 at Spartan Classic hosted by Manchester. The meet is scheduled to begin at 11:00 am.
