Postema Named HCAC Field Athlete of the Week

GREENWOOD, Ind. – Defiance College junior Tom Postema took home Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Field-Athlete-of-the-Week honors after winning three events at the Dick Small Invitational. It is his first award for the outdoor season. [Release]

Postema helped the Yellow Jackets to a second place finish by winning the discus, hammer throw and shot put. The junior thrower set a mark of 156-05.00 in the discus, 178-11.00 in the hammer throw and 53-01.00 in the shot put.

Currently, he ranks fifth in the nation in the hammer throw, sixth in the shot put and ninth in the discus. Postema leads the HCAC in all three events.

The Yellow Jackets will return to competition on Friday, March 30 when they host the Yellow Jacket Open. The meet will start at 3:00 pm.
