Jackets Postema Earns Second-Straight Field Athlete of the Week
GREENWOOD, Ind. – Leading the DC men’s track and field squad with three individual first-place finishes at the Dick Small Invitational on Friday, March 29, senior thrower Tom Postema was named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Field Athlete of the Week for the second consecutive week.

The Defiance, Ohio, native's victories paced the Purple and Gold to a second-place finish out of five teams at the competition. Postema was able to put together throws of 58.02 meters in the hammer, 52.91m in the discus and 15.89m in the shot put. The senior's tosses in the hammer throw and discus bested the rest of the competitors at the invitational by more than 14 and seven meters, respectively.
In the National Collegiate Athletic Association men's track and field rankings, Postema currently sits at No.1 in the hammer throw, No.3 in the discus and No.9 in the shot put for all of Div. III. His toss in the hammer also places him No. 17 in the country for all divisions.
The Purple and Gold track and field team will be returning to action on Saturday, April 6, when they travel up to Michigan for the Adrian Invitational. Events are set to begin at 10 a.m.
