DC’s Parrett Wins Second HCAC Track Athlete of the Week
GREENWOOD, Ind. – With a first-place and record setting run at the All-Ohio Indoor Championships, sophomore Troy Parrett has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Men’s Track Athlete of the Week.

Parrett (Cedarville, Ohio/H.S.) led the Yellow Jackets runners at the All-Ohio Championships Saturday, February 9 and has been named the track athlete of the week for the second time, after winning it back at the end of January. The sophomore logged a new Defiance College record with a first-place time of 1:55.40 in the 800-meter run, which ranks first in the HCAC and 16th in National Collegiate Athletic Association Division III.
Also on the week, fellow DC teammate Tom Postema won the HCAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week for the third time this season. This is the second time that they have swept the male athlete of the week awards for the conference.
The Yellow Jacket track and field squad will return to action next Saturday, February 16 when it hosts the HCAC Indoor Championships at the George M. Smart Athletic Center. The championships will begin at 1:00 p.m.
