Defiance Competes in All-Ohio
DELAWARE, OHIO- The Defiance College men's track and field team placed 19th overall at the annual All-Ohio Championships hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio.
DELAWARE, OHIO- The Defiance College men's track and field team placed 19th overall at the annual All-Ohio Championships hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio.
Of the members who competed in the event, the top overall time in the running events was a 13th-place finish by junior Jacob Rindler (St. Henry) in the 800-meter run after running a time of 2:00.09.
In the field events, the top marks included freshman Javier Castillo (Nogales, Ariz./Nogales) who finished 12th in the men's shot put with a toss of 43' 7.75". Castillo also competed in the discus and came in 15th place with a best throw of 131' 4.00". Sophomore Joshua Petro (Ocala, Fla./The Villages) also recorded a 12th-place finish for the team in the men's hammer throw with a distance of 149' 4.00".
In addition, sophomore Aaron Schwarzbek (Sherwood/Fairview) placed 17th in the high jump following a leap of 6' 00".
The Yellow Jackets are scheduled to travel to Ada, Ohio to compete in the Ohio Northern Invitational next Saturday, April 23.
