Men's Track & Field Lands Three All-HCAC Selections

RICHMOND, IND. - The Defiance College men's track and field team saw three student-athletes earn All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference honors announced Thursday afternoon.

The honor is awarded to a student-athlete who claims a top three finish at the HCAC Outdoor Championships. 

Freshman Vince Jackson and senior Javier Castillo paced the way for the Purple and Gold earning First Team honors, while sophomore Gabriel Caris captured Second Team All-HCAC accolades.

Jackson won the high jump with a leap of 1.89 meters, while Castillo won the discus with a season-best toss of 45.24 meters.

In the 400-meter dash, Caris claimed a third place finish in a time of 50.53.

The event concluded the season for the Purple and Gold.
