Jacket Softball Notches Eight NFCA All-Academic Scholars

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Defiance College softball team was honored by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association for its excellence in the classroom for the 2011-12 academic year.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Defiance College softball team was honored by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association for its excellence in the classroom for the 2011-12 academic year. The Jackets posted a cumulative team grade point average of 3.19 naming them a NFCA Div. III All-Academic Team.

Eight Yellow Jackets, including two returning players, from last year's team received NFCA All-Academic Scholars honors. This honor is only given to players who have a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

The eight players who received this award are Sara Ankeney, Jessie Arnold, Lisa Brophy, Kelsey Heck, Jessica Mandula, Aubrie Ridinger, Hallie Sullivan and Brittany Shough.
