Ferrall grabs HCAC Player of the Week honors

GREENWOOD, Ind. - After a superb effort at the plate, Defiance College's Macy Ferrall was named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Hitter of the week for softball.

Ferrall (St. Marys, Ohio/Memorial) was nearly perfect at the plate against Rose-Hulman in the Yellow jackets only two games of the week.  The senior third baseman finished the week 5-for-6 (.833) at the plate.

She also finished with three runs scored, a home run, a double, and a RBI to go along with posting a 1.500 slugging percentage and a .857 on-base percentage during the two game series. 

This is the first player of the week award for Defiance Softball in 2014. The last award for DC softball happened just over a year ago, going to Alli Rowland on March 18, 2013.

Defiance (3-6, 0-2 HCAC) is scheduled to face Adrian, Hanover, and Denison this week.
