Hubble named HCAC’s top player with four others from softball honored

CARMEL, Ind. – The Defiance College softball program has five players who earned All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference recognition this season, led by Kalin Hubble (Anderson, Ind./Anderson), the Player of the Year. The HCAC office announced its 2021 softball all-conference teams and major award winners on Tuesday morning after a vote of the league’s head coaches.

The Yellow Jackets defeated the Beavers 10-2 in the opening game before cruising to another five-inning 8-0 victory to complete the sweep.

HANOVER, Ind. - The Defiance College softball team finished the weekend with a non-conference doubleheader at Hanover College on Sunday afternoon. Defiance posted their first win of the season as their bats came alive to post an 8-0 six-inning win over the Panthers. The Yellow Jackets' offense continued in game two as they secured the sweep with another six-inning 9-0 victory.

DEFIANCE, Ohio - The Defiance College women's softball program heads into the upcoming 2021 season with 18 returners from last year joined by 12 newcomers. Entering her third year as head coach at Defiance, Megan Warren is looking for her Yellow Jackets to improve their record from last season after their 2020 campaign was cut short due to coronavirus. The Purple and Gold managed to get in 14 games finishing 5-9 overall.
