GREENWOOD, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference released its Academic All-Conference Honorees list today for the winter semester and Defiance College was well represented with 15 student-athletes making the list.

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Purple and Gold women’s basketball team fought all the way to the buzzer on Saturday, February 15, but the HCAC-leading Transylvania Pioneers were too much, as Defiance was defeated 80-63.
RICHMOND, Ind. – The Earlham Quakers shot the lights out of the building and held down the DC women’s basketball team to its second-lowest point total of the season during an 83-49 loss away from home on Wednesday, February 12.

BLUFFTON, Ohio. – The Purple and Gold women’s basketball team held a three point lead over the Beavers at the break, but Bluffton took control of the game in the final 20 minutes to best DC 71-55 on Wednesday, January 29.

Defiance was able to overcome an 11-point second-half deficit to send the game into overtime, but Hanover took care of business in the extra period for an 88-77 road win.

ALMA, Mich. – For the first time since 2009-10, the Defiance women’s basketball team grabbed a victory in its season opener, as it downed the Alma Scots 78-65 on Wednesday, November 20. Kelsey Tietje was the driving force in the win, as the freshman chalked up 24 points, 11 boards and a pair of blocks in her first collegiate contest.
GREENWOOD, Ind. – After taking fourth place during the 2012-13 regular season, the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference has chosen the Defiance women’s basketball team to finish in the same position this winter.
