DEFIANCE, Ohio - The Defiance College women's tennis team dropped its home opener, 8-0, to the University of Northwestern Ohio on Sunday, September 14.
The Lady Jackets, who were forced to postpone yesterday's HCAC tri-match with Bluffton and Rose-Hulman due to inclement weather, were shutout despite several close doubles matches. The No. 1 doubles tandem of Amanda Auzins and Mandi Losby dropped an 8-6 decision, while the No. 3 doubles team of Amanda Johnson and Jerika Hennes fell 8-4. The No. 6 singles match between Ashlea Wills and Jerika Hennes was cancelled due to rain.
Defiance (0-3) returns to action next Saturday, September 20, when it hosts HCAC foes Hanover and Manchester for a tri-match. The first match is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m.
