Women's Tennis falls to Anderson in midweek contest

DEFIANCE, Ohio - The Defiance College women's tennis team dropped a midweek contest Wednesday afternoon to Anderson University at E. Stevens Dix Tennis Facility. The Yellow Jackets were defeated 9-0 in the match by the Ravens.

The Purple and Gold, who battled with injuries and a shortened roster for the match, was unable to match Anderson in doubles, falling 2-0 along with withdrawing from the third match. The new pairing of Maria Weber and Nicole Tank was able to pick up the only game in the doubles matches for the Yellow Jackets.

In singles play, Nicole Tank, Haley Kuhlman, and Kayla Miller each picked up a game in their match defeats. For Miller, it was her first game point as a Yellow Jacket. The Yellow Jackets fell 5-0 in the singles matches and forfeited the final point.

The loss places Defiance's record at 0-4 on the season. The Lady Yellow Jackets have their final home match of the season on Saturday. Defiance will host Hanover College on Sept. 28, with a scheduled start time of 10 a.m. at the E. Stevens Dix Tennis Facility.
