Sarfino and Bingley both compete strong in day one

ALLIANCE, Ohio – Kim Bingley and Margaret Sarfino traveled to the University of Mount Union to compete in the All-Ohio Division III Heptathlon Championships.  After day one of the two day event, Bingley ranks second and Sarfino ranks seventh.

Bingley (Ottawa, Ohio / Ottawa-Glandorf) sits in second place with 2,603 points.  Her best event of the day was the shot put.  She threw for a distance of 10.64 meters to take the win in that event.  She took second in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.89.  She took third in the high jump with a height of 1.51 meters.  She also finished fourth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.49.

Sarfino (Dayton, Ohio / Kettering Fairmont) also had a good showing in day one.  She is currently in seventh place with 2,249 points.  She took fifth in both the 100-meter hurdles and the 200-meter dash.  She finished with a time of 16.50 in the 100-meter hurdles and a 27.83 in the 200-meter dash.  In the high jump, she finished tied for seventh with a height of 1.45 meters.  Finally, in the shot put, she finished tenth with a distance of 7.78 meters.

Sarfino and Bingley will be back in action tomorrow to conclude the All-Ohio Division III Heptathlon Championships.
