Defiance Competes at All-Ohio
CEDARVILLE, OHIO – The Defiance College women’s cross country team traveled to Cedarville, Ohio to compete in the All-Ohio Championships and finished with 432 points, finishing 14th out of the 20 NCAA Division III schools that participated.
CEDARVILLE, OHIO – The Defiance College women's cross country team traveled to Cedarville, Ohio to compete in the All-Ohio Championships and finished with 432 points, finishing 14th out of the 20 NCAA Division III schools that participated.
Eme Miller (Portland, Ind./Jay County) led the way for the Yellow Jackets finishing 23rd overall in a field of 503 runners among 42 teams. Her finish was worthy of a seventh place spot of all DIII participants. Miller's time of 22:57.01 brought her the highest finish in the history of DC for both All-Ohio and amongst other DIII finishers.
Courtney Kunk (St. Henry) was the second finisher for the Yellow Jackets in the race, finishing with a 25:38.92 to score 119th. Whitney Schalk (Bellevue) crossed the line at 26:31.38 and Kelsey Bowling (Sidney/ Houston) crossed at the 27:09.79 minute mark, behind Kunk, scoring 150th and 176th.
Aaron Textor (Swanton) rounded out the scoring for Defiance crossing the line 27:18.58 with a 183rd place finish. Brittany Holmes (Defiance) and Marissa Bussard (Whitehall/Bloom-Carroll) followed behind Textor, crossing the line at 27:46.27 and 27:56.48 respectively.
Up next for the Purple and Gold will be a trip to Wilmington, Ohio on Oct. 17 for the Wilmington Invitational. The race is scheduled for a 4:30 p.m. start.
