2012 at Defiance: Developed into one of premier relievers in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference and the anchor of Defiance’s bullpen … Notched career-highs in nearly every statistical category … Ranked first in the HCAC with a .132 batting average against and five saves during league action … Ended second in the conference among pitchers boasting at least 10 innings of work with a 0.75 earned-run average against league competition … Led all DC hurlers with 1.50 ERA, .215 batting average against, six saves, 15 appearances and 13 games finished … Held left-handed hitters to a .200 batting average … Limited foes to a .194 clip with runners on base … Notched a 0.64 ERA in Yellow Jacket victories … Did not allow an earned run in three trips to the Craig A. GREENWOOD, Ind. – The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced its 2013 All-HCAC honors on Tuesday with head coach Derek Woodley receiving Co-Coach of the Year recognition. DC pitcher and first baseman Darin Waterman was named to the All-HCAC Second Team, while seven other Yellow Jackets received Honorable Mention status.

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Defiance College baseball program reached the 20-win plateau for the first time in almost 20 years on Saturday with a 6-3 game one win at Transylvania and qualified for the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament for the first time since 2004. The last time the Jackets won 20 or more games was 1995. DC dropped the final game of the series by a final of 3-0.
