Baseball Winter Camps
DEFIANCE, OHIO -- Defiance College baseball will host a variety of baseball camps for a variety of age groups over the winter months to prepare players for the upcoming season.
DEFIANCE, OHIO -- Defiance College baseball will host a variety of baseball camps for a variety of age groups over the winter months to prepare players for the upcoming season. All camps will be held in the George M. Smart Athletic Center located on the Defiance College Campus. Interested players can register online at www.DefianceCollegeBaseball.com.
LITTLE HITTERS CAMP (Dec. 27)
This is for "Little Hitters" ages 4-8. This camp will include instruction on general baseball skills for young players.
HOLIDAY HITTING CLINICS (Dec. 27 & 28)
These hitting clinics are designed for those players who want to improve their overall hitting fundamentals. This clinic is offered at a reduced rate to ease the financial burden of the Holiday Season. Limit of 36 players/camp.
BASEBALL SKILLS CAMP (Dec. 28)
This camp is designed for players in grades 3-8 and will include instruction on the general skills of infield play, outfield play, base running and more.
HITTING SCHOOL (Jan. 15, 22 & 29)
This is perfect preparation for the upcoming season and includes six total hours of hitting instruction on consecutive Sundays. By enrolling in the Hitting School you will receive extensive instruction and practice. Each camper will do a complete series of drills that will focus on proper technique and fundamentals of hitting. * If you are unable to attend all (3) sessions you may sign up for individual sessions.
PITCHING AND CATCHING SCHOOL (Jan. 17, 24 & 31)
The Pitching and Catching School will provide six total hours of instruction on three consecutive Sundays. By enrolling, players will receive extensive instruction and practice. Campers will be introduced to a complete series of drills and techniques to help them prepare for the upcoming season.
HITTING CAMP (Feb. 5)
This will focus on the basic fundamentals of hitting including stance, stride, swing and finish. Each camper will receive three instructional hours of drills, demonstration, and lecture on hitting, bunting and base running techniques.
PITCHING/CATCHING CAMP (Feb. 11)
This camp will include three instructional hours of drills, demonstrations and lectures about the fundamentals of pitching. Catchers will receive instruction on receiving, blocking and throwing techniques.
HIGH SCHOOL PROSPECT CAMP (Feb. 19)
This camp is designed for those players (grades 10-12) who have an interest in playing college baseball. We will cover many aspects of the game during the three hour session. In addition, each camper will be evaluated in the areas of running, throwing, fielding and hitting.
