D3ProDay.com Selects DC's Scott and Cessna as All-Americans

VOORHEES, N.J. – Defiance College recently placed seniors Joemese Scott and Andy Cessna on www.D3ProDay.com's All-American Senior Team, with Scott being named Second-Team Defense and Cessna taking Honorable Mention Offense honors.

Scott was heralded prior to the start of the 2011 campaign as a Preseason Third-Team All-American by www.D3ProDay.com and went on to rack up 38 total stops from his defensive end position. Scott highlighted that number with 9.5 hits for lost yardage and four sacks to anchor the Defiance front line.

Cessna added the Honorable Mention All-American award to his postseason honors, following a First-Team All-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference and Third-Team All-North Region nod in 2011. Cessna was tabbed by www.D3ProDay.com prior to the season as a Honorable Mention All-American, before ranking second on the DC roster with 25.3 receiving yards per outing as a tight end and helping to pave the way to 186.0 rushing yards per game in eight league contests.

Scott, Cessna and the Jackets ended the 2011 campaign with a 4-4 record in HCAC action and a 4-6 overall clip.
