Late scores not enough as Yellow Jackets fall to Knights
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The Defiance College Yellow Jackets were defeated 69-14 on the road against the Marian Knights on Saturday at St. Vincent Field.
The Knights built a 38-0 halftime lead behind big plays from redshirt senior quarterback Tristan Polk, who threw for a touchdown and ran for two more, including a 63-yard score in the second quarter. Marian piled up 435 rushing yards and nine total touchdowns on the day.
Defiance broke through in the fourth quarter when senior quarterback Jehlani Warren connected with senior running back Cooper Sloan for a 3-yard touchdown and later found sophomore running back Cameron Turner for a 41-yard score. Warren finished 12 of 17 passing for 152 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions.

Cameron Turner caught a 41-yard touchdown and also led the Yellow Jackets in rushing with 52 yards on seven carries. He led in receptions, as well, with two catches for 61 yards.

Cooper Sloan hauled in five receptions for 35 yards, including a 3-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Turner and Sloan's touchdowns were the first of their 2025 seasons.

Defiance totaled 283 yards of offense (176 passing, 107 rushing) while holding the ball for more than 40 minutes.

The Yellow Jackets converted four of 14 third downs and went 1-for-3 on fourth-down attempts.

Defensively, Dominic Harris recorded the team's lone sack, an 8-yard loss.

DC recorded four total tackles-for-loss, including contributions from Harris, Chris Moneyham-Sawyer, Jay Graves, Tyshawn Woodson and Davidson Lectonte Jr.
