DC's Dominic Harris named AFCA/NAIA 3rd Team All-American
WACO, Texas - Defiance College senior defensive end Dominic Harris became the institution's first All-American in football since 2021 when he was among the 2025 AFCA NAIA Coaches' All-America Teams announced by the two bodies on Thursday.
The Detroit native, a four-year player at DC, was honored as a Third Team All-American. He is the program's second All-American during the decade and the 47th overall as an NAIA member (1955-90, 2024-pres.).
Harris earned his third-career all-conference recognition this fall, which was as Second Team All-MSFA Mideast League in 2025. He finished the regular-season ranked second in the MSFA with 8.5 sacks, which was good for 7th-most across the entire NAIA before the postseason started. He led the Yellow Jackets in total tackles with 55 and 16.5 tackles for loss, which was the second-best mark in the MSFA. For his career, Harris climbed to 7th among the program's all-time leaders with 19.5 sacks.
Harris, who played high school football at Southeastern in Detroit, was among 13 MSFA players named among the First, Second, and Third Teams. Harris was also one of 5 MSFA players to earn All-American status on the defensive side of the ball.
The American Football Coaches Association has selected an All-American team since 1945 and is the only team chosen exclusively by NAIA football coaches.
