Bio

Cole Recker was named the first head coach for women's flag football when the program was announced in July 2025. A DC alum and former football standout, Recker also serves on the Defiance football staff as the Tight End/Fullback Coach.

During his time as a player, Recker was a quarterback, tight end, and punter and played in 35 career games. After coming to Defiance as a quarterback, he quickly became an All-Conference performer during his first season at tight end in 2022. He was named Second Team All-HCAC at the position with 16 receptions for 154 yards, along with one touchdown. He also handled all the punting duties during that season and averaged 34 yards per punt. Recker was also a two-time Academic All-HCAC performer in the classroom, served as team captain for two seasons, and was a two-time recipient of the "Uncommon Man of the Year" team award.

Recker is a native of Colorado Springs, Colo. and earned two degrees from Defiance College. He completed his bachelor's degree in criminal justice in 2022 and his master's in business administration in 2024.
