Alex Miday Named HCAC Golfer of the Week

GREENWOOD, IND. -- Defiance College senior golfer Alex Miday (Canton/St. Thomas) has earned Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week honors for his performance at this weekend's Lou Collins Memorial Invitational at Bedford Valley Country Club in Battle Creek, Mich.

Miday opened the tournament by shooting a one-under par 71 on Friday and followed that up by shooting a 74 for a two-day total score of 145. Miday finished the opening tournament in a seventh-place tie.

Defiance placed sixth out of 14 schools in the overall standings with a team total of 619 strokes.

DC men's golf will return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 12 as the Yellow Jackets host the Jon P. Spiess Invitational at Ironwood Golf Course in Wauseon.
