DEFIANCE, Ohio - The Defiance Yellow Jackets fell to 0-4 on the year after being unable to capitalize on opportunities with a tough 5-1 loss to the Adrian Bulldogs at Winsper-Knobel Field on Friday.
Both teams got on the board early starting with a second-minute goal by the Bulldogs' Owen Emert assisted from Tyler Berezak. Defiance quickly countered with a goal of their own by Tyler Fritchley off a rebound from the keeper. This was Fritchley's second goal in as many games.
Turning Point
Despite the contest feeling back and forth, Adrian managed to bag three goals in a matter of 16 minutes starting with the go-ahead score in the sixth followed by scores in the 15th and 22nd minutes of play. The goals were scored by Aidan Leline, Alex Greene, and Tyler Berezak.
With this onslaught of goals, Defiance tried to battle back into the game but were unable to capitalize on their 14 shots of the game. Kyle Peterson scored a consolation goal for Adrian in the 70th minute to seal the game.
A Closer Look

- Defiance picked up two yellow cards in the contest, one by Blaine Worden in the first half and another by Jack Stanoikovich in the second.
- Fritchley's goal runs his season total up to two to lead the Yellow Jackets.
