DEFIANCE, Ohio - The Defiance Yellow Jackets avoided a shutout thanks to a first-half goal by Gabriel Lorenzetti but were unable to overcome the UNOH Racers' offensive attack, losing 11-1 on Wednesday at Winsper Knobel Field.
UNOH, receiving votes in the latest NAIA Top 25, improved to 8-2-1 and remain undefeated in the WHAC, scoring their most goals of the season. Michel Tentchou scored four goals to pad his lead among WHAC players and also broke the school's single-game record. Tentchou scored his first three goals inside the first 10 minutes of the match.
The Yellow Jackets lost their fifth straight but snapped a five-half scoring drought when Lorenzetti split the pipes on DC's only shot of the day. The Jackets got a good bounce to play the ball forward when Lorenzetti stepped in front of a backwards pass just below the 15. He lined his shot up with one touch and booted a rocket past the diving keeper into the back corner of the net. The goal for Lorenzetti was the first of his college career at DC.
