Wozniak, Suarez named among 2025 WHAC All-Conference Awards
DEFIANCE, Ohio - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference announced its 2025 Men's Soccer All-Conference and All-Academic Awards on Wednesday with Defiance College earning a place on the All-Newcomer and Champion of Character Teams.
Diego Suarez earned a spot on the WHAC's All-Newcomer Team to earn the program's first All-Conference award since joining the WHAC. Suarez was one of three players tied for the team lead in goals this season and finished second on the team in points (7).
The team's representative on the WHAC Champion of Character Team is Henrique Wozniak, who also had a strong season from his midfield position and led the team with 8 points. Wozniak serves as key piece of the program, volunteering time to assist the coaching staff, and serves as a positive influence while mentoring underclassmen.
DC also had seven student-athletes among the league's All-Academic Team. Senior Jacob Saxby earned his third academic all-conference award while Macen Kos, Griffin Meyer and Quinn Holtzapple all secured their second honors. First-time academic all-conference recipients included Gabriel Lorenzetti, Jacob Goldsberry and Tyler Harper.
