Trivett was the only field athlete to earn a conference title in two separate events. He cleared a personal-best 1.97 meters (6' 5.5") in the high jump, moving into sixth on DC's all-time performances list, and won the pole vault with a mark of 4.55 meters (14' 11"). Teammates, Tyler Anderson and Dan Hardin-Wallace, claimed fourth and sixth place in the pole vault, clearing 4.25 and 4.10 meters respectively.
Trivett finished his day by placing sixth in the long jump, giving him a total of 23 points at the meet. DC's Nick Goins edged Trivett in the event, clearing a personal-best 6.14 meters for a fifth-place finish.
Defiance got a major boost from its relay teams. The distance medley relay, 4x200-meter relay and 4x400-meter relay teams each finished second at the meet, and each placed among the top-two on DC's all-time performances list. The 4x200-meter relay team, consisting of Aaron Demecs, Josh Herron, Dan Hardin-Wallace and Ryan Perry, came in at 1:31.64 to set a new school record for the event.
Other notable performances included Josh Beaverson placing fourth in the shot put with a personal-best throw of 13.49 meters, and Justin Perkins posting his best time of the season in both the one mile and 5,000-meter run.
The track and field team will return to Anderson in one week to participate in the Fred Wilt Memorial Invitational, which is set for 3:00 p.m.
