Men’s Track Takes Second Place at Polar Bear Invitational
ADA, Ohio – The men’s track and field team finished second with 151 points at the Polar Bear Invitational on Saturday. DC’s Justin Perkins recorded the fastest 1,000-meter dash time in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference this season with a personal-best time of 2:44.51.

Perkins also finished first at the meet in the one-mile run, crossing the line in 4:35.59 for the sixth-best performance in the HCAC this season. Teammate, Aaron Fraley, placed second in the event with a time of 4:41.95.
Dan Hardin-Wallace worked his way into sixth place in the conference with a 6.76 second 55-meter dash, finishing second at the meet and just ahead of DC's Seyi Cadmus, who placed third with a time of 6.98. Hardin-Wallace continued his strong meet with a fifth-place finish in the 200-meter dash.
In the high jump, Thavez Jeter and Tyler Anderson combined to claim the top-two spots at the meet and jump into fourth and sixth place in the HCAC standings respectively. Jeter also placed fourth in the long jump and second in the triple jump at the meet.
Josh Beaverson led the DC throwers, placing third in the shot put and second in the weight throw. His toss of 13.67 meters in the weight throw ranks fourth in the HCAC this season.
The track and field team will get a week off before competing in the All-Ohio Championships on Saturday, Feb. 12. The meet is set to begin at 12:00 p.m.
