Wilson, Brown highlight Dick Small Invite for DC

DEFIANCE, Ohio – Defiance College hosted its second indoor track meet of the season with Central State visiting the George M. Smart Center on Friday with a flurry of event winners for the Yellow Jackets.

DC's Xavier Wilson posted an NAIA B Standard in the 200 meters and broke his own school record that he ran in December (22.10) with a first-place 21.93 run. He also won the 60 meters and has won four events so far this season. Jesse Brown also earned his second straight win in the high jump, clearing 1.98 meters as the fourth-highest in DC's indoor record books.

For the Yellow Jacket women's team, freshmen throwers Kanaya Keister and Chloe DeBoer each logged PRs on each the weight throw and shot put. Keister won the shot put while DeBoer claimed the weight throw. Among the runners, Nerisa Mukwe and Israa Khamis set PRs in the 200 meters while Adeline Niyonkunda ran her fastest indoor 1-mile.
