Wrestling to host four home events during 2021-22 season
The Defiance wrestling program has announced its schedule for the 2021-22 season which includes four home meets at the Karl H. Weaner Center.

The Yellow Jackets will host duals against Cornerstone University on December 11 and Wilmington College on January 8. DC will also host the Heartland Collegiate Atheltic Conference Duals against Manchester and Mount St. Joseph on February 3 and conclude their home season with Senior Night against Penn St. Behrend on February 6. In addition, the Yellow Jackets will host their annual intrasquad match on October 30.
Defiance will open the season on November 2 with a road dual at the University of Indianapolis and will compete in tournaments at Adrian College and Baldwin Wallace University before concluding the month with a dual at Adrain. The squad will begin the December portion of their schedule with the Ohio Northern Invite on December 4 before returning home to host Cornerstone in their home opener. They will finish the month at the Kalahari Duals on December 18.
The Purple and Gold will host Wilmington for a dual on January 8 to begin the 2022 calendar year. January will also see the team competing at the Spartan Mat Classic hosted by Manchester and the Pete Wilson Wheaton Invite and facing Albion and Case Western in a tri-meet hosted by the latter.
DC will host the HCAC Duals on February 3 and then celebrate Senior Night on the 6th against Penn St. Behrend. Then they will hit the road for a dual with Ohio Wesleyan before wrapping up the regular season at the Mid States Invitational. The NCAA Regional Tournament will take place on February 26-27.
The Yellow Jackets will be led by Acting Head Coach Chandler Minnard, who took over following the departure of Antonio Guerra. Minnard spent the 2020-21 season as an assistant coach for the Yellow Jackets.
