This week, in conjunction with the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference, Defiance College and its athletic department are honoring seniors who were part of spring sports in 2020. Softball is the second sport featured and the seniors on this year’s team included Brooke Gostomsky (Covington, Ohio/Covington), Mariah Huff (Galloway, Ohio/Mogadore), Jada Lopez (Leipsic, Ohio/Leipsic), Jessica Mello (Vermilion, Ohio/Vermilion), Arianna Richards (Covington, Ohio/Covington) and Sydney Zeuch (Mason, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame).
DEFIANCE, Ohio – Prior to the cancellation of the remainder of the 2020 softball season, the Defiance College softball team finished their annual Spring Break trip to Florida with a 4-6 record. With the coronavirus shortening the spring sports season, Defiance completes the campaign at 5-9 overall.
CLERMONT, Fla.- The Defiance College softball team wrapped up the week in Florida, playing tough competition. The Yellow Jackets fell 3-2 in a thrilling nine-inning game against Carthage College and a 12-2 loss to Case Western Reserve University in the nightcap.

Memphis, TN- The Defiance College softball team pulled off a high-scoring split to end the Rhodes College Invite. In game one, the Yellow Jackets fell 9-7 against the Griffins, and in the nightcap, Defiance came out victorious with a 15-5 win over Rhodes.

The Yellow Jackets lost an exciting opening game in an extra-inning battle against Fontbonne University, before falling to Rhodes College 9-0 in five innings.
