Lady Jackets in Seventh After Day One of HCAC Championships

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Defiance College played the first of two rounds at the 2008 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday. The Jackets shot a 429 as a team and will head into Sunday's final round in seventh place.

Danielle Ary turned in the top score of the day for DC, carding a 98 to finish in a tie for 20th position. Tara Miller was next in 26th, while Cali Deeter, Brittany Gow and Tracy Sauter ended in 33rd, 34th and 35th.

Transylvania positioned itself for the team championship on Sunday, shooting a 352 and distancing second-place Hanover by nine shots. Manchester (368) rounds out the top three and is followed by Franklin (372), Rose-Hulman (382), Anderson (387) and Defiance (429).

The final round of the HCAC Championships will begin on Sunday at 11:00 am.
