Westfall Leads Jackets with Top-20 Showing at Spiess Memorial

WAUSEON, Ohio – Sarah Westfall carded a 96 to finish in 17th place at the Jon Spiess Memorial on Tuesday at Ironwood Golf Course. The Jackets finished sixth in the seven team event after shooting a 403 over 18 holes.

Westfall was followed in the standings for Defiance by Tara Miller, who shot a 101 to end in 24th position, while Kelly Beard and Phoenix Golnick tied for 26th with a 103.

Trine won the team championship by 17 strokes over Lourdes with a team score of 343 and Amy Worthington claimed medalist honors for the Thunder as well, with an 18-hole total of 76.

The Jackets will be back in action on Saturday, September 15, as they head to Wabash, Ind., to play in the Manchester Invitational.
