Women's Golf Finishes 10th at Hanover (Ind.) Invite
HANOVER, IND. -- The Defiance College women's golf team duplicated its team score from yesterday's first round in the final round as the Yellow Jackets placed 10th overall at the Hanover (Ind.) College Fall Invitational at Shadowood Golf Course in Hanover, Ind.
HANOVER, IND. -- The Defiance College women's golf team duplicated its team score from yesterday's first round in the final round as the Yellow Jackets placed 10th overall at the Hanover (Ind.) College Fall Invitational at Shadowood Golf Course in Hanover, Ind.
The Jackets shot a pair of 407 strokes as a team to end the two-day event with an overall total of 814 strokes (407+407=814). Host school Hanover, finished as the over team champion with a combined score of 644 strokes (315+329=644). Rose-Hulman (Ind.) was second with 650 strokes (313+337=650) and Marian (Ind.) University rounded out the top-three schools with 655 strokes (326+329=655).
Individually for DC, freshman Kristin Aslanian paced the team with a tournament-total 185 strokes (91+94=185) and placed 41st overall. Fellow freshman Taylor Carr (Wayne/Elmwood) carded a second-round 105 strokes to post an overall score of 208 strokes (103+105=208). Senior Kayla Uscilowski (Maumee) bettered her opening round total by 13 strokes on the final day and finished a stroke behind Carr for third on the team at 209 strokes (111+98=209). Completing the list of Yellow Jacket competitors was sophomore Mallory Galloway (Marion/Ridgedale) with 212 strokes (102+110=212).
The women's golf team will next compete at the Manchester (Ind.) University Fall Invitational next Saturday, Sept. 13. The single-round event is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. in North Manchester, Ind.
