Oberhauser named WHAC Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
DEFIANCE, Ohio - Defiance College freshman forward Tatum Oberhauser was selected as Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week by the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference after a record-setting performance for the Yellow Jackets.
While Defiance blanked Andrews 12-0, Oberhauser tied the program record with four goals against the Cardinals and did so on a single-game record 15 total shots and 12 shots on goal. Her effort also helped the team set a new single-match team scoring record with 12 goals. Three days later against Kentucky Christian, the Liberty Center grad netted two more goals during the second half that allowed the Purple and Gold to overcome a 1-0 deficit for a 2-1 win.
Overall, Oberhauser scored six goals for the week on 20 total shots, placed 15 shots on frame and earned 12 total points. Oberhauser is already in the program's single-season top-10 for goals in a season with seven so far with the record standing at 13.
The honor for Oberhauser is the first player of the week award for a women's soccer player since the team joined the WHAC.
DC women's soccer stands 3-3 overall this season and is prepared to host Grace Christian at home this Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
