DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Defiance Yellow Jackets completed the 2025 women's soccer season with an 8-1 loss to the Rochester Christian Warriors at Winsper Knobel Memorial Field on Saturday.
The Warriors cracked the scoreboard in the third minute of the game with a header by Mya Freeland off a corner kick by Aliana Perez. They added three more goals in the half, including two scores by Makenna Kennedy, to lead 4-0 at the break. In the second half, Rochester Christian scored four more goals, with two by Jenna Schodowski and two assists in the half by Kennedy.
Tatum Oberhauser scored a late goal on a penalty kick for the second straight game. It was her 10th goal of the season and the team's 18th, becoming the first women's soccer player at DC to reach double figures in goals since 2004 (Katie Clear, 10 goals).
Serving as senior day for the program, DC honored Chloe Kern as the program's lone graduating senior. Kern was a two-year player for the Purple and Gold and appeared in 35 games with one goal, which was the team's only score in conference play last year.
The Yellow Jackets finish the season 3-14-1 and 0-11 in conference play while picking up the most wins since the 2022 season.
