WHAC announces 2025 All-Conference and Academic Teams
DEFIANCE, Ohio - The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference announced the 2025 women's soccer All-Conference Teams and All-Academic Team on Wednesday. Receiving recognition from Defiance College included five members of the All-Academic Team, one on the All-Newcomer Team, and a special distinction for head coach Isabelle Danner.
Coach Danner was selected among her peers as the WHAC's 2025 Women's Soccer Champion of Character Coach of the Year. The award honors one coach each season for their dedication to building character through their sport. In her third season at Defiance, Danner has retooled the program to meet the rigors of NAIA competition in addition to fostering a high standard of academic excellence. This past fall season also produced the program's best winning percentage since 2019. On the player Champion of Character Team, sophomore defender Destiny Pier (Continental, Ohio/Continental) earned the distinction for the first time in her career.
Among the WHAC's All-Newcomer Team, freshman goalkeeper Hannah Redick was highlighted by the league's coaches after a breakout first season. Redick started 15 of 18 games for Defiance and made 179 saves, the fourth-most for a season in program history and the most by any NAIA keeper in the nation. She posted her first two college shutouts early in the season and stopped 73 percent of shots on goal, 12th-best among the league for keepers playing in double-digit games. Redick is the first Yellow Jacket women's soccer player to receive WHAC All-Conference recognition for her efforts on the pitch.
DC placed five student-athletes on the WHAC All-Academic Team for their achievements in the classroom. All five are first-time recipients of the conference's academic award for academic excellence: Amanda Barnes, Reagan Camp, Creedance Chittenden, Chloe Kern and Destiny Pier. The league's All-Academic Team is made up of sophomores and above with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher in addition to one full year at their institution.
