DEFIANCE, Ohio – The Defiance College women's tennis team dropped their match this afternoon with Trine (Ind.) University 6-3 at the Dix Tennis Facility.
Defiance went 1-for-3 in the doubles flight as No. 1 duo Hannah Hesterman and Cayla Walker recorded their second victory on the season 8-5. Partners AJ Breneman and Sydney Huston fell 8-2 at second doubles while Courtney Alexander and Mackenzie Combs dropped their set 8-1 to the Thunder.
In singles action, two Yellow Jackets secured wins for DC. Hesterman earned a 6-3, 6-1 conquest at first singles and was joined with a win from Breneman at No. 2 singles (6-3, 6-1). Walker was defeated at third singles while Alexander was routed at fourth singles 7-5, 6-2. Combs and Huston fell at fifth and sixth singles 6-0, 6-0 respectively.
The Yellow Jackets continue their fall schedule at Mt. St. Joseph on Saturday, September 23. First serve is set for 11:00 AM.
