USTFCCCA honors Defiance College with All-Academic selections

DEFIANCE, Ohio – The women's track and field team have been named to the All-Academic Team by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

To be named to the All-Academic Team by the USTFCCCA, a team must have a cumulative GPA of a 3.10.  Defiance College achieved that mark and were one of 158 Division III teams across the nation to be placed on the list.

Along with the team being named to the All-Academic list, Kim Bingley (Ottawa, Ohio / Ottawa-Glandorf) and Kali George (East Palestine, Ohio / East Palestine) were two individuals named to the list as well.

To be named to the individual list, an athlete must have a 3.30 and compete in the NCAA Championships or be ranked in the national top 35 in an individual event.

The USTFCCCA named Bingley and George to the All-Academic Team for the third straight year and the second straight year, respectively.

The All-Academic honors come on the heels of a great season for the Yellow Jackets.  They won both the indoor and outdoor championships where George was the high point scorer indoors and Bingley the high point scorer outdoors.

Bingley also made the cut to participate in the NCAA's for a third straight year in the Heptathlon during the spring.
