Alicia (Kalik) Franks proudly rejoins the Defiance Women's Volleyball staff in 2025. She has been a staple in the Defiance volleyball community since joining Defiance College as a student. She previously coached under Brie Brenner at DC from 2016-20 and for over a decade with the Defiance Volleyball Club. She was also the head coach at Ayersville for three seasons (2021-23) and guided the Pilots to a district championship in 2023, finishing with a 21-win season.

She was also a member of back-to-back HCAC regular-season championships in 2013 and 2014. Her program record for assists (3,752) still stands while she also holds 3 of the 6 highest-assist seasons in DCVB history. Alicia was also a three-time academic all-conference honoree and was HCAC Freshman of the Year in 2011.
Franks earned her bachelor's degree from Defiance in 2015 and then went on to Bowling Green State University to complete her master's degree in education/sport administration, which she finished in 2017. Franks is also a member of the Alumni Varsity D Board as an important voice and advocate for former Defiance College varsity athletes.
