DeVore Awarded Player of the Week

GREENWOOD, Ind. – After a thrilling 31-28 comeback win, linebacker Matt DeVore has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week. [HCAC Release]

DeVore (Van Buren, Ohio / Van Buren) helped the Yellow Jacket defense hold Hanover to 28 points, including 0 points in the fourth quarter to allow the offense to score 15 unanswered points to get the comeback victory.

The sophomore had six tackles, four of which went for a loss, and three sacks.  He helped the Defiance defense hold Hanover to -21 rushing yards on the day.

DeVore and the Yellow Jackets will be back in action on October 11 when they travel for an HCAC matchup with Manchester.  Kickoff is set for 1:30 pm.
