Defiance goes off for seven goals, shuts out Calumet
EAST CHICAGO, Ind. - Defiance College erupted for five second-half goals on its way to a 7-0 victory over the Calumet Crimson Wave on Friday night.
Six different Yellow Jackets contributed to the scoring outburst, highlighted by Junior Quinn Holtzapple's two-goal performance. Junior Griffin Meyer opened the scoring in the 12th minute, and freshman Diego Suarez doubled the lead in the 25th as Defiance carried a 2-0 advantage into halftime.
The Yellow Jackets pulled away after the break as sophomore Oscar Olivier, and freshmen Sebastian Berrio and Kendahl Stanley each added goals. Holtzapple scored twice in the final 15 minutes, including one assisted by sophomore Ilan Nathan, to cap the rout. Goalkeepers sophomore Jacob Goldsberry and freshman Rafael Gaino combined for three saves to preserve the shutout.

Jacob Goldsberry and Rafael Gaino split time in-goal in the match. They saved three shots on all three attempts. This marked Gaino's first minutes at goalkeeper for the Jackets.
