Men’s Track and Field Has Seven Earn Indoor All-Ohio Honors
GAMBIER, Ohio – The men’s track and field team placed 13th with 15.50 points in the Div. III Indoor All-Ohio Championships at Kenyon College on Saturday. Defiance saw seven of its athletes receive Indoor All-Ohio honors, and broke a school record in the distance medley relay for the second-straight year.

The distance medley relay team of Joe Davis, Justin Perkins, Madison Murphy and Hayden Krick recorded the second-fastest time in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference this season, crossing the line in 10:41.18 to outpace the previous school record by nearly five seconds. That time marked a 16-second improvement over the relay team's season-best performance entering the meet.
Austin Trivett earned Indoor All-Ohio honors in the pole vault for the third-consecutive season, and posted the best mark in the HCAC this season with a clearance of 4.55 meters. Tyler Anderson joined Trivett as an All-Ohio pole-vaulter, clearing 4.10 meters to tie for eighth place at the meet.
Aaron Demecs earned the All-Ohio nod in the 400-meter dash, placing fourth at the meet for the second-straight year as he crossed the line in 50.76 seconds. Demecs' time ranks second in the conference this season, one-fifth of a second behind Rose-Hulman's Cole Sutton.
The track and field team has one week to prepare for the first-annual HCAC Indoor Championships on Saturday, Feb. 19 in Anderson, Ind. The meet is set to begin at 1:00 p.m.
