GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Defiance Yellow Jackets were dealt a 3-0 loss (25-15, 25-15, 25-14) by the Cornerstone Golden Eagles at Mol Arena during Saturday's WHAC men's volleyball action.
The Yellow Jackets (5-17, 3-12 WHAC) dropped their fourth straight match and sputtered out of the gates after doing so on Friday night as well. Defiance racked up 10 attack errors in the first set while the Golden Eagles (10-13, 9-7 WHAC) swatted 12 kills to just 4 errors. Aside from the first handful of volleys in the second set and 7 total ties, Cornerstone led for the remainder of the match. Cornerstone committed 14 service errors, including 7 in the first set. The Yellow Jackets were limited to 2 kills in the third while posting 12 of their 14 points in the set due to miscues by the Eagles.
Matthew Schulte led the way DC with 5 kills while Thaddeus Setla has a team-high 14 digs to complement his 3 kills.
